Republic of Moldova present at Asia’s largest fruit exhibition
From september 4-6, the Republic of Moldova, represented by Moldova Fruct Association and a fruit producing company, is marking its second consecutive participation at the Asia Fruit Logistica international exhibition. The participation of Moldova at Asia Fruit Logistica was made possible thanks to the support of the Invest Moldova Agency, the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF) and the USAID Project Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity (RCRA).
“Asia Fruit Logistica is an excellent opportunity to increase the notoriety of our brand as a quality fruit producing country and to boost our sales volume, and distribution on the Asian market. Moldovan exporters have experience of working with Middle Eastern markets, and also with Bangladesh and Malaysia, however, for apple exports there is a major dependence on the Eurasian Economic Union market, which causes certain risks for the whole sector. Another advantage of this market is the opportunity to export at advantageous prices from the beginning of the season until February. Despite the logistical crisis in the Red Sea, the development of Moldova’s presence in the region is a strategic objective for us,” said Moldova Fruct Executive Director Iurie Fala.
Apple, plum and grape tastings organized at the Moldovan stand, and many visitors from Saudi Arabia, Chile, Mongolia, Indonesia, India and other countries were delighted by the quality and great taste of our fruits.
“The Asian market is characterized by challenges due to cultural specificities, different consumer demands and strong competition from big fruit producers. As exporters, we have to ensure high quality of fruit under long transportation conditions. Despite this, the market in the region remains an attractive one for us as it represents almost 1/2 of the world’s consumers,” said Victor Cazacu, manager ProInedit Ltd.
Asia Fruit Logistica this year counts more than 750 exhibitors from 42 different countries and regions of the world and stands out for the diversity of products and services on display. The exhibition provides an excellent platform for promoting Moldovan fruit and developing exports to Asian and Middle Eastern countries.
