Long, warm autumns allow Moldovan growers to produce Granny Smith apples of markedly high quality. Moldovan Granny Smiths are particularly crispy and slightly acidic, with balanced hints of sweetness. Granny Smiths are well-suited to transport and handling and can be stored for 200-220 days. Moldova grows more than 15,000 tons of Granny Smith apples per year.
