Reinette Simirenko
The strong, firm, and juicy Reinette Simirenko apple is one of the most widely cultivated apples in Moldova. Reinette Simirenkos are medium to large in size, with a variable shape ranging from conical-globular to globular-flattened and asymmetrical. The skin is green at harvest and yellow-green to straw-yellow after storage and with a plum. Inside, their whitish-yellow pulp is tender, sweet, and slightly acidic, with a good, winey taste. The fruits are resistant to handling and transport and can be stored for a period of 180-220 days. Moldova produces 45,000 tons of Reinette Simirenko apples each year.
