From February 5 to 7, 2025, 19 fruit producers and exporters from Moldova will participate in one of the world’s largest and most prestigious international trade fairs – Fruit Logistica. Moldova’s participation, with a dedicated country pavilion in Berlin, Germany, has been co-financed by the Invest Moldova Agency.

“The participation of Moldovan producers and exporters at Fruit Logistica in Berlin underscores their strong commitment to the international market. Despite global challenges, Moldova continues to diversify its fruit exports and expand its market reach. Apple exports have increased by 12% compared to 2023, and shipments to the European Union have surged by 87%, positioning it as the second-largest export destination. Meanwhile, the share of exports to the Middle East remains steady at 6%,” stated Iurie Fală, CEO of Moldova Fruct.

“For Moldovan plums, the 2024 season proved challenging due to drought conditions, which affected export volumes, though the average price increased by 50%. The share of Moldovan plums exported to the EU stood at 79%. These successes have reduced Moldova’s reliance on traditional markets. A major highlight of this season was the tripling of the total apricot export volume. The EU export share grew from 32% to 56%, making it the primary market, while the average price rose 1.5 times,” emphasized Alexandra Bîcu, Marketing Specialist at Moldova Fruct.

Today, Moldovan fruits are available in approximately 50 countries worldwide, a significant achievement driven by Moldova’s consistent participation in international trade fairs and substantial investments in the development of export infrastructure and capabilities.

“I am experiencing Fruit Logistica as an exhibitor for the first time, and I am delighted to connect with potential clients. The interest from importers in Germany, Poland, the UK, and Saudi Arabia is diverse, ranging from cherries and table grapes to plums, which reinforces my belief that thorough preparation for such an event is crucial to successfully approach each potential partnership. In this regard, the Export Mentorship Program organized by Moldova Fruct has been immensely helpful. Thanks to the training, I now have a clear, EU-focused perspective, a deeper understanding of importer profiles, and have developed a well-structured export plan that I am already putting into action,” said Dorina Tataru, Manager of Dor-Fruct Group.

“This year’s edition of the fair stands out for the increased interest from importers, with a consistent demand for extra-quality apples, certified by GlobalG.A.P. The most requested varieties are Gala for red apples and Granny Smith for green apples. So far, I have had productive discussions with current and potential clients from the Netherlands, Spain, Romania, Morocco, and Saudi Arabia. International events like Fruit Logistica offer numerous opportunities, but for Moldovan producers and exporters, it is essential to capitalize on this potential, align with market demands, and maintain high-quality standards for the products they export,” remarked Denis Vornices, Export and Sales Director at Agrodenidan SRL.

This year, Fruit Logistica brings together around 3,000 exhibitors from the fresh fruit and vegetable sector from 145 countries, with over 65,000 visitors. The event serves as a vital platform for dialogue, innovation, technological solutions, and industry trends. Moldova Fruct has been a participant at Fruit Logistica since 2012.
