Examining the volume of Moldovan fruits that have reached markets in the Middle East in recent years shows a trend of increased interest by Moldovan fruit producers and exporters to cater to these markets. In 2018, more than 1,000 tons of Moldovan apples reached countries in the Middle East, including Libya, Iraq, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates. Most of these apples were supplied by members of the Fruit Producers and Exporters Association „Moldova Fruct,” which supports its members to diversify and access new markets with their quality Moldovan fruits such as apples, plums, table grapes, apricots, and cherries. A favorable climate, rich soil, advanced technological infrastructure, and the exceptional craftsmanship of Moldovan farmers ensures that fruits produced in this country have a special taste – a taste that Moldova wants the whole world to enjoy.

To strengthen existing business relationships and establish new ones in the region, „Moldova Fruct” members will participate in the „World of Perishables” international exhibition for the fifth time. World of Perishables will take place November 12-14, 2019 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and is the only event of its kind dedicated to the perishable food industry in this region. This year’s exhibition is expected to attract more participants than ever, drawing businesses from over 35 countries, as well as international experts and specialists in the fields of perishables, safety and trade of fresh food, technical equipment, and transportation and logistics.

„Moldova Fruct” executive director Iurie Fala emphasized that the organization will be ready to showcase the distinguishing quality of Moldovan products to interested buyers, “Moldovan apples, plums, and table grapes are still unknown for potential buyers in the countries of North Africa, Asia Pacific, the Gulf of Piers, a market with over 2 billion consumers.
